Making sure you get a good night's sleep is vital to your ongoing health and fitness. Unfortunately for many seniors sleeping difficulties can be quite disturbing. Poor or disrupted sleep should not be overlooked. If insomnia is an issue for you it is recommended that you seek medical advice so that this problem can be properly addressed to prevent it from impacting on your quality of life. Insufficient rest will impair your ability to function at an optimum level. In addition your susceptiblity to illness and disease can be significantly increased.
It is a well known fact that when you don't have enough sleep you are more prone to mood swings and being just hard to get on with. Your ability to concentrate or think clearly is definitely compromised.
Eating rich heavy food or having a strong cup of coffee close to retiring for the night will do you no favours. Making your digestive system work hard whilst you are trying to get to sleep will definitely cause difficulties with your sleeping patterns.
Check what you do throughout the day. Being physically tired when you go to bed will greatly increase your ability to enjoy deep and satisfying sleep.
Don't overlook the importance of rest in your everyday living. Your body and mind will thank you for it.
