For many seniors the thought of joining a gym may seem totally unworkable. However if you really take the time to think this through you will find that gym membership may have many benefits for you.
As for any new exercise program, it is essential you take the time to discuss your intentions with your family doctor. If they feel this is not ideal for you they will let you know.
Otherwise why not take up the challenge and see how a regular workout at the gym can improve your physical fitness and extend your social horizons.
It is widely known that seniors who enjoy a regular fitness program have improved quality of life, retain their independence for longer and generally are less likely to suffer from falls.
Although for most seniors the energy levels are not what they were when they were younger, however regular exercise can assist in relieving fatigue, increasing flexibility whilst reducing pain associated with joint and muscle stiffness.
Regular workouts can go a long way to building a stronger body which translates into a healthy lifestyle. If you feel good in your body your mental health will benefit as well.
